Who Are We?
Gina began her career in event planning working within the event-marketing field for corporate clients. She planned many large events for her consumer goods clients' campaigns including brand imaging and loyalty parties, and concerts. After five years in the corporate arena, as well as successfully coordinating many high-end events for friends, family and colleagues, she found private events were her passion and decided to launch Shi Shi Events.

Shi Shi Events first appeared on the Cleveland wedding planning & design scene in October 2005. In 2006, Gina was chosen to coordinate the annual vendor appreciation event for The Knot, held in honor of leaders in the bridal industry for the Cleveland Metro area. Since then, Gina and her work have been featured in The Bride & Bloom, The Knot Ohio, Long Island Bride & Groom, and various other publications. Shi Shi Events is a member of Style Me Pretty's LIttle Black Book, and brides of The Knot voted Shi Shi Events as “The Best of” Ohio’s wedding planners in 2007, 2010 and 2011.

Our philosophy and our clients are inimitable. A Shi Shi bride never follows. Widely recognized as Cleveland's industry leader in innovation and design, and always the epitome of style, Shi Shi Events caters to the style savvy, discerning bride.

In June 2009, Shi Shi Events became Shi Shi Events Wedding Planning & Design with the addition of Shi Shi Events Lights, Sound, & Swag, a new division focused on providing clients with boutique lighting design, and custom sound & fabric solutions. Shi Shi Events Lights, Sound, & Swag services offer existing clients the opportunity to handle a variety of design needs in house, or the services can be booked independently of Shi Shi Events Wedding Planning & Design services.

The Shi Shi Events family is made up of Gina Jokilehto-Schigel, Founder & Principal Designer, Wedding Planner, Katie Piatt, Wedding Planner, Dara Franchino, and Assistants, Kristin & Lisa. All of the ladies at Shi Shi Events are honored to have worked with our many fantastic brides & grooms and are looking forward to meeting with you!
